Death of 4 year old stirs panic in Chirang

In an inhumane incident, dead body of a four year has been recovered behind Sidli Block Development Officer's office on the bank of Bakra River in Chirang. The incident has spread an air of panic ion the entire area.

It has been alleged that the child had been raped and murdered before leaving the body at the spot. It may be noted that the girl had been missing from Wednesday evening from her Grandparent's house.

SP Sudhakar Singh, Additional SP Bedanta Prakash Borkakati and DSP Prabhat Das have reached the spot to take stock of the situation.

Various organisations have demanded the arrest of the culprit within 24 hours and have also urged the administration to grant the strictest of punishment possible. Sidli Mahila Samaj and the students of the school of which the girl was a student, have staged a protest outside the Sidli Police station.

Assam Government's Tourism Minister Chandan Brahma has also reached the spot to evaluate the situation of the area. The minister has directed the police to start investigation of the case.

According to reports, Police has begun search for the culprit through sniffer dogs.
