DElEd in ODL mode after 2017 invalid

The State Council of EducationalResearch and Training (SCERT) has informed that all those, who have admitted inD.El.Ed. courses in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode after 2017 areinvalid. The SCERT said that the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)has permitted the SCERT to train the unskilled teachers of the State in 2017-19sessions under the ODL mode.

The SCERT also informed that acentre in Lakhimpur has illegally obtained admission fees from students toenroll in D.El.Ed. course. However, an inquiry has been initiated by the SCERTauthorities regarding the issue.

On the other hand, Assam Education Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya on Friday chaired a meeting with the officials of the Education Department regarding the TET examination, which is going to be held in November. The minister informed that the certificate of those, who have uploaded fake admission receipts in the TET application form, will become invalid, even if they pass the TET examination.
