Demow blast: Govt announces Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia

Assam Minister Topon Kumar Gogoi reached Demow on Friday morning and met kin of the two persons killed in the grenade blast on Thursday evening. He also offered their condolences.

The Assam Government has announced Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia to kin of two persons killed in the incident. The announcement was made by Minister Topon Kumar Gogoi after visiting victim families.

Meanwhile, upper Assam Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), RP Meena reached the spot last evening and started the investigation.

While one customer identified as Anup Gupta died on the spot, Kamal Agarwala, the owner of the shop declared dead at Assam Medical College Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh. It has come to light that ULFA had threatened Agarwala earlier.
