Dhemaji boat accident: Search operation continues for missing girl

The 12- year-old girl Rashmi Deori who went missing during a boat accident on June 25 that occurred near Luhijan Ghat on the Jonai River in the flood-ravaged Berachapari of Dhemaji district is yet to be rescued.

The Jonai Fire Brigade and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been conducting rescue operations in all the banks of the river leading to Chirampuria to find the missing girl. Seven of them were present in the boat and six are safe.

The accident occurred at 7.30 in the evening on Thursday while the boat crossed the Jonai river. Rashmi Deori belonged to Silapathar Bormuria village and on Thursday came to visit Ruhitpur village along with her parents.
