In a tragic incident, two girls have been recovered alive while another girl drowns in a river when a car fell into the river from a bridge at Sisiborgaon in Dhemaji district. Two girls are still underwater.

The car fell into the river from a bridge at National Highway No 25. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) reached the spot immediately to rescue the people and search operation continued to recover the car.

The family belongs to Tankeshwar Kalita of Lilabari of Lakhimpur.

The accident occurred while the family went to attend a wedding at Silapathar.
