Dibrugarh Policeman saves boys from drowning

In an act of bravery, two boys were saved from drowning near the Lakhinagar area of Dibrugarh by a policeman and a private firm employee. Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI), Purnananda Saikia of the Barbaruah police station and Akhil Sarkar saved the boys when they were about to drown after going for fishing.

As per media reports, the boys were in deep danger when the locals raised the alarm. Responding to that, Saikia and Sarkar plunged into the waters to save the boys.

Saikia has meanwhile been jointly felicitated by the Dibrugarh District and Police Administration.
