A tensed situation prevailed in Paboi area under Digboi, after the recovery of a dead body near the railway line. The locals in the area staged protest demanding justice to the deceased.

As per the reports, the victimhas been identified as Mangulu Tanti. He was attacked with sharp weapons. Thelocals alleged that Tanti was murdered by BJP leader of the area Nirmal DasKandali.

Meanwhile, the family members ofTanti lodge complaint against the BJP leader and his brother Parimal Das at theDigboi Police Station.

Later the locals staged dharna over the NH38 and blocked the highway. They demanded strict action against the duo. Police and security forces deployed at the spot to control the tensed situation.
