In arecent achievement, Dipu Dutta, a resident of Jorhat, won a Gold medal at the 60kgcategory in the South Asian Bodybuilding Championship. The event had been heldat Kathmandu.

With Dutta secured the first position, while Nepal's Kamal Bhandari clinched the second and Mohammad Qasim Hussaini of Afghanistan stood at the third.

The Assam'sbodybuilder won the gold for India on the first day of the championship thatfeatured six weight categories.

The championship had been organised by the South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation(SABBF).
