‘Distorted’ Bihu | Yuba-Chatra Sanmilan Lodges FIR

The Bihu dance presented in Bollywood style at the inaugural ceremony of the Fit India Movement on Thursday triggered a controversy all over the State.

The Tai Ahom Yuba-Chatra Sanmilan, Lakhimpur unit has lodged an FIR at North Lakhimpur Sadar Police station on Tuesday and demanded legal action against Zenith Dance Institute Pvt Ltd for directly or indirectly 'encouraging' the organizer of the event to present Bihu dance in a distorted manner. The union has also demanded a public apology from the organizer of the event.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the nation-wide "Fit India Movement" and appealed to every citizen to remain healthy and fit. The event was launched at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi.

Netizens condemned the distorted presentation of Bihu dance and demanded public apology from the organizer of the show.
