Divyangan To Provide With Special Facilities: Athawale

In a ray of hope for the Divyangan who has always beenneglected in the society, union minister of state for Social Justice andEmpowerment Ramdas Athawale has assured to provide facilities for the disabledpeople in Assam to create an atmosphere which will guarantee them equalopportunities.

Athawale has announced to provide the facilities for the Divyangan during his visit to Guwahati on Saturday. The minister also reviewed various schemes of his ministry.

The minister further informed that there is over 4lakh ofdivyangan in Assam and around 1,39,000 have received a pension of 1000 rupeesevery month in the state. He also informed that his ministry in its commitmentto the welfare of Divyangan has increased reservation in Central government,state government and semi-government services for them.
