Dokmoka Mob Lynching victim Nilotpal Das’ father expresses grief in front of Human Rights Commission officials

Pratidin Bureau

Officials of Human Rights Commission on Thursday visited Karbi Anglong Mob Lynching incident victim Nilotpal Das' residence, where Nilotpal's father expressed grief and demanded justice for his son.

"If an extremist had shot him, I would not have any problem. But he was tortured and killed brutally; he requested them, he said that he is an Assamese boy and even gave our phone number to verify" Nilotpal's father said.

Nilotpal's father also urged the commission to investigate why his FIR was not registered at Dokmoka Police Station. "Why did the OC of Dokmoka refuse to accept my FIR?" he asked.

He also asked the commission to carry out the investigation without any bias and urged them to fight all social evils that exist in Assam. "We plan to run Bullet trains but how will we do that if the society is infected with such superstitious beliefs" he added.

Head of the commission assured that all steps will be taken in the matter.
