“DOORS ALWAYS OPEN TO CONG MLAs” – NPP

Pratidin Bureau

Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya and a senior NPP leader, Prestone Tynsong said that the National People's Party (NPP) was ready to welcome Congress MLAs if they wish to join the party.

He reportedly responded to a query about some Congress MLAs being interested to make a switch to NPP. He said that if they may wish, the doors of the party always open to them, given they meet the criteria. He, however, added that no such Congress MLA has approached him thus far.

He also clarified that should they want to join NPP, the MLAs first have to resign as legislators. Not doing so will get them disqualified under the anti-defection law, he added. Tynsong also cleared the air and said that there was no political instability in Meghalaya.
