Drugs Seized in Guwahati Railway Station

In a joint operation of Government Railway Police(GRP) and CRPF, a huge amount of intoxicated drugs has been seized from downRajdhani Express in Guwahati Railway Station on Thursday.

Two women were held with the drugs carrying 35packets worth Rs. 50lakhs. The women were identified as Soma Paul and SangitaModak who hails from Alipurduar in West Bengal. The women were held when theywere moving to Alipurduar with the consignment from Dimapur, Nagaland. It wassuspected that they were about to deliver the drugs to Bangladesh.

However, a case has been registered under the NDPS Act and an investigation is underway, as said by the police officials.

Officials said that there were 34, 100 tablets. The mastermind behind the incident is H. A. Laskar and Railway Police had already apprehended him from Bongaigaon railway station.
