The Election Commission of India has issued a show-cause notice to Assam minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday following a complaint filed by Congress.

The Congress has filed a complaint against Sarma for allegedly threatening remarks against BPF leader Hagrama Mohilary.

The Congress had approached the EC alleging that Himanta Biswa Sarma had threatened to send Mohilary to jail by misusing NIA.

EC asks Sarma for explanation by 2nd April over his statement at a rally.
