Hima Das on Saturday called a press conference at Sarusajai Sadium and talked to the media persons. Addressing the press conference she thanked the people of Assam for their continuous support. She also thanked her parents, her coach and the Assam Government. She specially thanked Assamese Media for providing all her updates to the people of Assam. Sharing her experiences at the Asian games she thanked Zubeen Garg for his inspiration who went to Jakarta to support her.

The Dhing Express praised the sports culture of Haryana and said the sports arena of Assam can enhance only if various organisations and the State Government come forward. She also mentioned about her favourite sportspersons, Sachin Tendulkar and Lionel Messi whom she considers her inspiration. Mentioning about the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she said , "Not much time is left for Olympics and much practice would be required". She also said she would focus more on the 400m relay at the Olympics.

She was overwhelmed at the love and support she received from the people of Assam.

Earlier, Assam welcomed its  sensational sprinter Hima Das, who bagged three medals – one gold and two silver in track events of the recently concluded Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta of Indonesia on Friday. She was felicitated by the Assam Government at Srimanta Shankardev Kalakshetra on Friday.

At the event she talked about her preparations of the upcoming events.  She also recalled her journey from her village Kanduluimari's  Dergaon to the Asiad. The elated Dhing express also mentioned about the issues that hampered her performance before the 200m finals at the Asian games 2018. On the other hand, Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal handed her a cheque of Rs 1.60 crore as promised at the event.
