Electric Buses To Ply In Guwahati

With an aim to curb pollution in the state, the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) has announced that it will deploy 15 electric buses in Guwahati under the Central Government's FAME scheme.

It has been reported that the testing of these electric buses will begin from June 22.

It may be mentioned here that each bus will have a capacity to accommodate 31 passengers at a time.

The buses will ply in three routes-Kachari to Kamakhya (6.4 km), Paltan Bazar to the airport (25 km) and the third route will cover areas including ISBT, Khanapara, Ganeshguri, Paltan Bazar and Maligaon stretching 38km.
