Employees accuse MD, Spectrum Honda of harassment

In an incident of employee exploitation, the Managing Director (MD) of Spectrum Honda, in Guwahati, has been alleged of psychologically as well as physically harassing the workers.

Speaking exclusively to Pratidin Time, the employees have accusedthe MD PK Ghosh, who is also the CEO of the organisation of treating femaleemployees inappropriately. They have alleged that if the female workers do notact as per his wishes, then their salaries are reduced. Also, making indecenthints is nothing new to Ghosh, alleged the workers.

Along with the employees who are presently working inSpectrum Honda, those employees who had earlier worked there have complied withthe allegations.

It may be noted that as per the orders of the LabourCommissioner Narayan Konwar, Labour inspectors Brajen Barua and Nizara Hazarikapaid a surprise visit, last Saturday, to the organisation and inspect thecondition of the employees.

During the inspection, pointing out the loopholes of notproviding appointment letter, and minimum pay scale of the salaries, theinspectors have directed the administration to take measures as early aspossible. And if the certain measures are not taken, legal action will be takenagainst the company, the inspectors told Pratidin Time
