Fani effects Assam flight-train services

All flights operating to and fro Kolkata and Bhubaneswar from the LGBI Airport has been cancelled as Severe Cyclonic storm Fani is heading towards Bangladesh in the North-Northeast direction. So far, 28 flights have been cancelled.

Fani has entered West Bengal afterleaving a trail of devastation in Odisha and reportedly is moving at a speed of90 kmph towards Northeast.

On theother hand, 20 trains have been cancelled as of now and there will be no railservices till May 08. Services to Hyderabad, Kanyakumari, Chennai, Bengaluruand Puri have been suspended, however, rail services will still continue tooperate to Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. General trains to and fro Upper-LowerAssam will still be operating.

Today,Dibrugarh-Kanyakumari Vivek Express and Agartala-Bangalore Cantonment HumsafarExpress have been cancelled.
