‘Fani’ expected to impact Northeast

Cyclonic storm ' Fani' is expected to impact the northeast from May 02, said the Regional Meteorology Centre (RMC) in Borjhar, adding, that the impact will result in rainfall activities in the region.

RMC issued a warning for the period between April 29 and May 03 saying that thunderstorm, accompanied by gusty winds of 30 to 40 kmph speed and lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura and heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland today.

On the other hand, on May 01, thunderstorm accompanied with gusty wind, with a speed of 30 to 40 kmph, and lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland.

On May 2, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya, alerted RMC.
