Father-daughter dies in Khanapara accident

A horrific accident in Khanapara, claimed lives of two while injuring three on Sunday night. A coal-filled toppled over a Mahindra Xylo, in which a family of five was travelling to Guwahati from Sivasagar.

The father and the eldest daughter lost their lives on the spot while the mother, youngest daughter and the driver are critically injured. The injured have been admitted to the Health City Hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Sanjoy Boruah, who worked in City gas Agency and 10 year old daughter Darshana Boruah, who was a student of KV Khanapara. On the other hand, the injured are Sanjoy's wife Minoti Boruah, four year old daughter Diksha Boruah and the driver Sumanjit Lahon.

According to reports, the coal carrying truck toppled over the Xylo due to being overloaded, which destroyed the vehicle carrying the family.

It is shameful how humanity can stoop to this level as mobile phones along with few other valuables belonging to the family have been stolen.
