Rupsi Airport to restart operations from September

Passenger flight services are all set to begin from Dhubri's Rupsi Airport from September which will also be connected to Guwahati.

The Rupshi Airport project is being carried forth under the Ministry of Civil Aviation's UDAN Scheme.

It may be noted that the flight operations will restart after a gap of 36 years.

According to reports, the responsibility to start Dhubri-Guwahati flight services has already been handed over to a private organisation named M/s Turbo Megha Airways Private Limited.

This move was disclosed in Centre's reply to a written query by Dhubri's MP Badaruddin Ajmal at the Lok Sabha.

Meanwhile, Airports Authority of India has startedrenovation of the airport by investing an amount of Rupees 63.36 crore.
