Flood Victims Stage Protest in Dhubri

The flood-affected people have staged a protest by blocking the roads demanding relief materials in Dhubri. The victims alleged that they have not yet received the amount of Rs. 3800 assured by Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

More than 200people including women and children have come out in the roads of Chapar in theNational Highway in Dhubri blocking the road alleging corruption in the floodrelief.

The flood-affectedpeople also alleged that they have not yet received the amount of Rs. 3800which was assured by Himanta Biswa Sarma.

On the otherhand, the locals of Hailakandi staged protest demanding immediate repairing ofroads of Bajrapur and Ratanpur.

The aggressivepeople have alleged that the PWD roads connecting Bajrapur and Ratanpur is in adilapidated condition and commuters have to face problem while travellingthrough the road.

The protestorshave raised slogans against PWD Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and threatened thegovernment that if the roads have not been constructed in 10 days then theywill stage protest in front of the Deputy Commissioners office in Hailakandi.

Moreover, people in Demow have to undergo trouble as they have to carry the patients to the hospital wrapped in cloth by hanging in the bamboo.

The flood in Demow had swept away bridges and roads in the area for which people have to suffer. Although the PWD department has constructed a bamboo bridge over the PWD roads that is not enough as even an ambulance cannot pass through the bridge.
