Former chief secretary of Assam, Vijendra Singh Jafa, has died of cancer.

The retired IAS officer was suffering from cancer since last nine years. He succumbed to the chronic disease on Wednesday morning in Gurgaon.

Singh's last rites were performed at Bhondsi village on Sohna-Gurgaon road located in the outskirts of Delhi.
