Former President of ATASU Ashwini Chetia Passes Away

The former President of All Tai Ahom Students' Union (ATASU) Ashwini Chetia breathed his last on Thursday midnight in a private hospital in Guwahati. He was suffering from cancer and was under treatment at Health City hospital for a few days.

He left behind his wife and son.

Chetia's loss has been a great loss not only for the tribes of Tai Ahom but also for the entire state as he served as an immense leader.

After serving as a President and Adviser of ATASU, Chetia later joined BJP and also contested in the last Assembly election from Sivasagar constituency as an Independent candidate.
