Frogs found in water bottle in Mariani

In a clear danger to public health, people in Mariani under Jorhat district have discovered frogs in a 20-liter drinking water jar on Sunday morning.

Asper the reports, the Home Guard jawans of Selenghat had brought the 20 liter waterjar from a vendor in Mariani and they had the shock of their lives when theyfound the macerated frogs in the water jar.

"Wehave seen a number of small frogs or a toads dangling in the sealed bottle,"said a Home Guard jawan.

Meanwhile,the development has provoked outrage, with many calling for an investigation bythe concerned department. "This is one of many examples of why you need a qualitycontrol system that works virtually all the time," said a local. They have alsourged the jawans to pursue legal action against the water bottling company.
