GHC rejects bail plea of Mrigen Haloi

The Gauhati High Court(GHC) on Wednesday rejected the bail plea of suspended Agricultural officerMrigen Haloi. He was arrested on May 9 afterday-long interrogation by a team of Assam police.

Haloi was arrested in connection with a case registered at Bhangagarh Police Station. He was allegedly involved in the infamous 'cash-for-job' scam during the tenure of APSC chairman Rakesh Paul.

It may be mentioned here that a special court had earlier rejected Haloi's bail plea.
