GMC Conducts Inspection Drive

The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has conducted a jointinspection drive with the joint directors of health services, Kamrup (M) andNational Vector Borne Disease Control Programme, Assam.

The inspection drive has been conducted at hotels, restaurants,health premises and other commercial trade premises in Bamunimaidam RailwayColony. The inspection team also created awareness on cleanliness and thesource reduction activities for vector control.

According to an official of GMC, the team inspected the tradelicenses of all the trade premises. "We have inspected all the trade premisesother than hotels and restaurants," the official said.

The official further informed that nine notices have been issuedto those health premises which were found to be unhygienic and action will betaken against them.

The inspection team was also accompanied by GMC flying squadswhich cleaned any garbage and littering around the area immediately.

The GMC official also said that awareness have also been createdon source reduction for dengue.
