GNM nurses call off strike

Pratidin Bureau

The GNM nurses in Assam decided to withdraw their agitation on Friday. "We have decided to withdraw our protest in view of the difficulties faced by the patients," informed representatives of AANA.

The decision was taken by the Central Executive Committee of the AANA. The AANA will sit in a meeting with the State government on December 4, informed AANA.

The continuous strike had badly affected the normal functioning of medical college hospitals across Assam. Long queues of patients were seen across every medical college in the State. More than four people have died around the State following the continuous protest by the nurses.
