Goalpara Dist. The 1st To Construct Roads with Plastic Waste

Goalpara district is the first in Assam to construct a road using plastic wastes to curb plastic pollution.

According to reports, 237.652 km stretch out of 565km has been completed using various green technologies.

The road is being developed under Prime Minister's Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and it is expected to improve connectivity in the district.

It was since last year that around 37, 260 kgs of plastic waste have been used to complete around 45 km of 75 km distance and for the remaining stretch around 25,000 kilos of plastic waste will be needed.
