The Golaghatwing of the Assam Tea Majdoor Sangha launched a protest demanding 20% bonus onDurga Puja.

Tealabourers of 84 Tea Estates of Golaghat have all come together against the TeaGarden owners demanding their Puja Bonus after meeting at the office of theorganisation.

Theprotestors stated that the profit or loss of the owners is nothing of theirconcern and as such they have to be paid their bonus.

Failure assuch on the part of their owners has enraged the tea labourers, who receiveonly Rs. 115 as their daily wage, as the bonus is more of an emotion for them.
