Govt move to bring char areas under surveillance

In a major development, the Assam Government has decided to bring all the chars on the river Brahmaputra under surveillance.

Govt.admitted that there have been allegations that a number of foreign nationalsare staying in these areas, while there were reports of anti-national andantisocial elements taking shelter on the chars.

The families, who have illegally encroached upon government land in the char areas, to be evicted by the state government soon.
