“Govt Used Clause 6 As Political Weapon” – Lurin

Pratidin Bureau

The government's desire for an expert committee report on the implementation of the 6th clause of the Assam Accord seems to have an eye-wash. It seems like such an action was undertaken to scuttle the Anti-CAA movement.

This was said today by General Secretary of AASU Lurin Jyoti Gogoi.

His remarks come a day after the Assam government said that the government would forward the expert committee report to the Centre only after having it reviewed by legal experts.

Reacting to the aforementioned development, he termed the government insensitive, besides saying that the state government used the issue of the 6th clause as a political weapon.

Gogoi also reacted to the SI exam paper leak incident. Terming it as a failure on the part of the state government, he questioned as to why a controversial entity was again chosen to conduct the examination.
