Guv summons Assam Assembly from Nov 28

Pratidin Bureau

The Governor of Assam has summoned the next session of the Assam Legislative Assembly on November 28. This has been issued through a notification from the Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat, a communiqué said.

New MLAs are likely to take oath on November 4. The ruling BJP has managed to retain Ratabari, Rangapara, and Sonari, even as the AIUDF wrested the Jania seat from the Congress in the by-elections to four of the Legislative Assembly constituencies of Assam, results of which were declared on Thursday.

The by-election was necessitated after Kripanath Mallah (Ratabari), Tapan Gogoi (Sonari), Pallab Lochan Das (Rangapara) and Abdul Kalaque (Jania) of Congress won the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
