Based on a secret information, a team of Narcotic & Drugs department launched an operation and arrested a person from Beltola in the city on Sunday afternoon.

During the operation, the special branch recovered large haul of drug chemical from a truck (UP 15 ET 1855). Reportedly, the truck was coming from Manipur. Opium Smugglers tried to dispatch the chemicals with fifty packets of ginger – Reports said.

The truck driver has been sent to police custody for wide-ranginginvestigation.

A case has been registered under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act 1985).
