In its mission against the war on drugs, the Special Operations Group of West Guwahati Police on Saturday night seized twelve containers of assorted drugs in Tetelia and a person has been arrested in this connection.

The arrested has been identified as Mahmood Haque Saheb.

Acting on a tip-off, the West Guwahati SOG officials nabbed Saheb from the area located nearby Raddison Blu Hotel. The officials also recovered a scooty bearing registration number AS01AN9246 from the possession of Saheb.

In this regard, Saheb has been booked under different sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 at Jalukbari police station.

Interrogation and further investigation into this matter are underway.
