Guwahati station gets 2 more escalators & 1 lift

To reduce the difficulties faced by the passengers in movements across foot over bridges to various platforms at the Guwahati railway station, two escalators and one lift have been inaugurated at the railway station on Saturday. Mangaldoi MP Ramen Deka inaugurated the escalators and the lift.

During the programme MP Deka also laid foundation stone for six more escalators at the railway station. NF Railway informed that those six escalators will be operational within next year.

Notably, there are two escalators and one lift already operating at the Guwahati railway station.

To make it easier for passengers to board trains effortlessly and on time, the Indian Railway has decided to provide more lifts and escalators at the large railway stations. NF Railway is in the process of installing 29 more escalators within 2020. Similarly, 36 more lifts will be installed in various stations of NF Railway within next year in addition to the seven already operating.
