Heroic welcome for Lovlina, Jamuna

Assam's pugilists Lovlina Borgohain and Jamuna Boro received a heroic welcome at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Guwahati on Tuesday; after they landed in the home-state following their achievements at the Women's World Boxing Championships in Ulan-Ude, Russia.

Hundreds of crowd welcomed them at the LGBI Airport with Gamochas, Jaapi and flowers. Speaking to media, they have informed that they are now looking forward to the Olympic qualifiers to be held in February 2020. They also thanked the people of Assam for their support.

"Itfeels great to bag a bronze medal in the first participation itself," saidJamuna, while Lovlina said, "I will try my best to live up to the expectationsof all."

Meanwhile,both Jamuna and Lovlina will be felicitated with Excellence in Sportshonour at the Pratidin Achiever Awards 2019.
