As part of the 'Himalayan Cleanup Campaign', the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) in collaboration with local NGOs has organised a cleanliness drive at the Dimapur railway station premises in Nagaland.

The drive was organised on Saturday across 12 mountain states.

Cleanliness in-charge of Dimapur railway station, Mathew Vashum, said, "In Dimapur station, we are trying to identify those areas which are dirty. With 'nukkad nataks' and posters, we are trying to convey the message to the passengers that they shouldn't litter the station area".

The campaign was organised based on the theme of World Environment Day 2018, 'Beat Plastic Pollution'.

Apart from Dimapur, the cleanliness drive had also been organised in Kohima, Mon, Mokokchung, Phek and Zunheboto districts.
