Holi: No rain dance in Guwahati

With only a few days away for the much awaited festival Holi, the Guwahati police on Saturday put a restriction on rain dance during the festival. Prohibiting rain dance during Holi, the City Commissioner of Police, Deepak Kumar warned of strict action against those organisers violating the order.

"Such functions had earlier created law-and-order problems," said Commissioner Kumar.

The Commissioner of Police has also informed that the police will carry out an extensive drive against drunk driving during Holi. He also informed that to control the law-and-order situation in the city, the Guwahati police would request the district administration to declared dry-day during Holi in the city.
