Homeguards Demand Regularization of Their Jobs

The AllAssam Home Guard Association on Monday staged a protest at Dispur Last Gateduring the ongoing Assembly demanding to regularize their jobs.

The home guards claimed that their demands were not being met and urged the government to fulfill their demands at the earliest.

The home guards have demanded the regularization of their jobs. Moreover, they have demanded that their service age limit be extended to 60 years and have also urged the Government to provide them with pensions or a one-time severance pay.

They have also demanded that the home guard deployment software system be used and also urged for equal work for equal salary as per the directives of the Supreme Court. The association has also demanded regularization of their jobs at the earliest as per the order given by the Gauhati High Court and demanded that they should be equally treated like the other government employees and to avail the services to their families if any home guard dies during the service time.
