If Himanta wants to become CM, he should join AIUDF: Ajmal

Pratidin Bureau

"Himanta Biswa Sarma should join AIUDF and we will make him Chief Minister of Assam," said All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal on Wednesday. His remarks came after Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that he guarantees to drop the much debated Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 if ULFA (I) chief Paresh Baruah joins mainstream.

"He will never be the CM of Assam if he stays with BJP," added Ajmal, who was campaigning for AIUDF candidates in Baskandi under Cachar district.

Ajmal also said that government is planning to grant citizenship to 40 lakh Hindu Bangladeshis. And Himanta is also dreaming of becoming the future CM by granting citizenship to Hindu Bangladeshis.
