Illegal wood recovered at Maijan Ghat

On Monday evening, a huge number of illegal wood have seized in Maijan ghat on the bank of Brahmaputra River.

Reportedly, a team of Congress leaders like APCC president Debabrata Saikia, MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi, Durga Bhumij, former MLA Atua Munda had noticed the huge numbers of illegal woods while they were on the way for a special program in Dibrugarh.

However, coming to know about the sudden visit of the team, the miscreants had fled away from the scene. The team had rescued the most valuable woods which were suspected to smuggle through riverway from Dibru-Saikhua National Park and Arunachal Pradesh.

Moreover, it has been come to know that, the miscreants use to supply the logs of woods to nearby mills and then it uses to send the other parts of the district.
