Imphal twin blasts: 3 jawans among 4 injured

At least four individuals including three personnel of the paramilitary force Assam Rifles were injured when two powerful bomb exploded within a span of few minutes at a crowded place in the centre of capital town of Manipur Thursday evening.

The incident occurred near the Imphal pologround at around 6.20 pm, and is believed to be an act of proscribed militant outfit. The three injured who were rushed to a nearby hospital are now in stable condition. Of the injured, one is a non-Manipuri, as per sources.

The dual explosion is suspected to be due to grenades,said the officer.

Meanwhile, security forces mostly the state police have heightened frisking and verification process due to the attack on the AR troopers.
