Itanagar to have 3 Sports CoE

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju announced that the Central Government is going to set-up three Sports Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Itanagar.

Talking to media persons, Rijiju said that the CoE will befor Martial Arts, Weight Lifting and Boxing. He also informed that thesecentres will have a capacity of 300 sportspersons with residential facility.

Rijiju held a review meeting with the Arunachal PradeshGovernment and discussed about the sports infrastructure in the state.

The minister also informed that the government will also setup 12 to 15 football stadiums with Astro-turf football pitches across the statein the next three years. He also stated that the government of Arunachal willalso host the North East Youth Festival, 2019.
