Jalukbari COVID-19 Hospital To be Functional from Tomorrow

The Jalukbari Ayurvedic College which has been upgraded as COVID-19 hospital will be functional from Sunday (June 21). State Health and Family Welfare Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday inaugurated the 110-bedded hospital.

The minister said that the asymptomatic patients will be treated in the hospital and if the health of the patient deteriorates they will be referred to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH).

The Minister further stated that four teams of doctors and health workers will provide treatment to the patients. "The Ayurvedic Hospital in Jalukbari has been upgraded as COVID-19 hospital keeping in view the increasing number of patients in the city. As we have started the rapid tests, more numbers of positive cases will be detected for which we have decided to make Ayurvedic hospital as COVID hospital and it will provide treatment to the asymptomatic patients," the minister added.
