Japanese Encephalitis: Central team reviews situation

A Central government team which arrived on Sunday reviewed the situation in Assam caused by Japanese Encephalitis, which has, till latest updates, claimed 21 lives. Also, there are also reports of 69 positive cases across the State.

The Central team held a meeting with senior health officials on Monday.

An official of the team said that the situation is under control so far but July and August are critical months and so the people need to be alert.

According to reports, Jorhat and Kamrup have reported the maximum number of cases. Health officials have assured that everything is under control.
