Japanese encephalitis claims 2 lives in Kamrup (R)

Atleast two people have died of Japanese encephalitis in Assam's Kamrup (R)district on Saturday. Several other people are now undergoing treatment invarious hospitals in the district.

Asper reports, both the deceased died in Gauhati Medical College and Hospital(GMCH). They were the residents of Patrapur and Malibari area of Kamrup (R)district.

Itmay be mentioned here that in Jorhat at least six persons have died so far inJapanese encephalitis. However, the Assam heath department is yet to take anyactions to control the death toll.
