Jorhat: Alleged drunkard abuses police

In ashocking incident, an allegedly drunk man scolded an on-duty traffic policeofficer in Jorhat town recently. The video of the incident went viral on socialmedia.

The man identified as Raja Bailung was seen in the video abusing and scolding an on-duty traffic police officer with offensive language after his vehicle crashed with a motorcycle over Garali in Jorhat town on Tuesday evening. Bailung even threatened the police officer with dire consequences.

Asper reports, though police detained Bailung, he was mysteriously released withinhours. The police had registered a case under 294 and 353 of IPC.

Localsalleged that Bailung is a BJP worker and has a close relation with several BJPleaders in the district.
