Jorhat Doc Murder: ABSU Demands Culprit Be Hanged

The Udalguri unit of All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) today staged demonstrations demanding high-level investigation into the gruesome murder of Dr. Rahul Basumatary that took place in Jorhat yesterday.

The agitators, who also staged a sit-in, also demanded that the culprit be hanged through a fast-track court trial.

It must be mentioned here that one has been arrested on Saturday night in Jorhat in connection to the suspicious death. A daily wage painter named Diganta Tati was apprehended from Jorhat's Chinnamara. Basumatary's smartphone was recovered from Tati.

Basumatary was killed gruesomely on Friday night. He was a junior doctor working at Dr. J.K.Saikia Homeopathy Medical College, Jorhat. He was found dead at his rented home in Jorhat Town's Chandan Nagar.
