A man died in Golai of Jorhat after he was stabbed multiple times by a sharp object on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as one Faake Hajda.

According to sources, the incident happened when the victim went to guard his agro field from elephants at night and was attacked by another man for reasons unknown.

The motive of the murder is not yet ascertained.

Police arrested one Subirat Mahatuk from Golai in connection to the case.
